A Bachelor of Science in Biology graduating student of the College of Arts and Sciences, Caraga State University, Joshua Paul M. Gamallo attended the International Society of Engineering Research and Development (ISERD) Conference organized by the International Science and Innovative Engineering (ICSI) in Singapore on March 2-3, 2017.The conference was sponsored by the Institute of Engineers and Researchers (IIER).
Joshua Paul or “Epoy” to friends got the Best Paper award. His paper was entitled – Evaluation of Antiangionic Property and Toxicity of FicusSepticaBurm. F. Stem Extracts.
The forum was for scientists, scholars, engineers,and students from universities around the world and the industry to present on-going research activities and to foster research relations between the universities and the industry. The conference provided opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and experiences, establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaboration.
Various lectures on science and innovative engineering were presented. According to Joshua, Guest Speaker Dr. Suresh stressed that research is for the society and for the welfare of the people, and that researchers are catalysts of innovation. He further emphasized that academic people should do research not just for publication prestige or for ranking purposes, and other sort of things which are just a waste of money time and effort.
