University of Mindanao benchmarks CSU-HERO Learning Commons

The University of Mindanao (UM) - Davao, headed by Mr. Edgardo O. Castillo, Chief Admin, together with Engr. Emmanuel Gallora Sr., AVP Physical Plant Management and General Services (PPMGS), Arch. Ruben F. Erickson, Chief of Construction, and Ms. Aida Bacani, Chief Librarian conducted a benchmarking activity with the University for its HERO Learning Commons.

Mr. Isidro Padpad, the General Manager of Webcode IT Solutions, and Mrs. Maria Corazon Tercera, the University Librarian, spearheaded the conduct of this activity that included a tour within the 3-storey building to explain the concept, color combination, building structure, and the technology being deployed.

CSU-HERO Learning Commons is one of the Philippines' largest state universities/academic libraries, with a capacity of 2,000+ patrons in a single sitting. It features several open places for conversation and cooperation, as well as an auditorium for larger events and lectures. The HERO Learning Commons also has an archival center and a museum. Inside this state-of-the art building are discussion cubicles, sleeps pads, café, telephone/cellphone booths, activity center, decision theater, maker area, and other student-centered amenities.
