Two Visiting Professors from overseas academic institutions, Prof. Ludwig Paul Ary Evert Streit of Bielefeld University in Germany and Prof. Youcef Mammeri of the University of Picardie Jules Verne in France, delivered a lecture and presented opportunities for future engagements in a collaborative research in Caraga State University, this year.
Faculty members of the Department of Mathematics, with the major students in its undergraduate and graduate programs, participated in Prof. Ludwig Paul Ary Evert Streit’s lecture on Infinite Dimensional and Stochastic Analysis, a free training hosted by CSU in coordination with the Mathematics and Statistics Department of the Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) last November 13, 2017 at the CSU Organic Agriculture Training Center. The Visiting Professor was complemented by Prof. Sheila M. Menchavez of the MSU-IIT who gave the lecture on Automorphisms Generated by Umbral Calculus on a Nuclear Space of Entire Test Functions.
Earlier this year, Dr. Youcef Mammeri, another Visiting Professor from France gave a lecture on Mathematical Modeling for Ecology on the first day of a three-day capacity building, which was participated by third-year and fourth-year BS Mathematics students with the faculty members of the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Biology.
Computing and Research Center (MSCRC) with its potential for the development of research studies in Mathematical Modeling. The visit also included the preliminary discussion on the university’s prospective collaboration with the University of Picardie Jules Verne through a Joint Degree Program of CSU’s BS Mathematics program and Sandwich Program of MS Mathematics and PhD Mathematics.
Scouting highly exceptional partners to perform well its vision-mission statements, and with its strong commitment to excellence enhanced by its strong academic preparations, Caraga State University is indubitably now paving the road to internationalize the ideas and perspectives of its academic community, thereby nurturing the students and faculty to compete in the increasing globalized world.
