Caraga State University achieved another milestone with the Palladium Award conferred by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), the highest distinction for exceptional achievements and performance of Innovation and Technology Support Offices (ITSOs) in the Philippines.
The Platinum Award is presented to ITSOs that consistently demonstrate excellence in intellectual property (IP) creation, protection, and commercialization. It is also reserved for ITSOs that have either achieved five straight Platinum Awards or successfully secured an international patent through the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), reflecting global impact and sustained performance in IP management.
CSU received the prestigious award after obtaining its fifth consecutive Platinum Award from IPOPHL, which has only been achieved by three higher education institutions (HEIs) nationwide.
Representing CSU in the awarding ceremony was Dr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa, Vice President for Research, Development, Innovation, and Extension (RDIE), joined by Mr. Kenneth L. Ciudad, Director of the Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO) and ITSO Manager; Dr. Nathalie Daminar, Head of the RDIE Unit; and Ms. Charisse Galusan from CSU Cabadbaran Campus.
CSU joins a distinguished group of institutions recognized with the Palladium Award, including De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, University of the Philippines Manila, Samar State University, and Central Mindanao University.
In his statement, Dr. Dellosa emphasized that the award is “a testament to the unwavering commitment to building a strong intellectual property and innovation ecosystem in Caraga State University” and “reflects the hard work and collaboration of researchers, faculty, and support units in transforming ideas into impactful innovations.”
He extended gratitude to the university researchers, faculty members, students, and innovators whose passion, creativity, and dedication contributed to achieving the award.
This achievement reinforces CSU’s leadership in fostering a culture of innovation and intellectual property awareness in the region and the country, further cementing its role as a catalyst for sustainable development and knowledge-based growth. | via OVPRDIE, PICO
