Caraga State University has all the reasons to celebrate November 22, 2020. The day marked another significant event in the history of Caraga State University as the first virtual Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities of the Philippines (AACCUP) Institutional Accreditation ended notably.
Setting the trend for excellence in instruction, research, innovation and production, CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso acknowledged all the effort and teamwork the CSU family manifested. He also honoured the commitment shown by the accreditors in doing their job in assessing and evaluating, and in giving merit to its best practices.
Quoting Michael Jordan’s, “Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rolando N. Paluga thanked the AACCUP accreditors, and called the present workers of CSU as heroes who soared to great heights and make things happen.
CSU’s AACCUP Accreditors led by Dr. Myrna Q. Mallari had only good words for the present CSU leadership under Dr. Anthony M. Penaso and that of CSU as a whole. She expressed that it has been her dream to visit Caraga State University in the near future. Furthermore, she also commended the best practices of CSU as an institution of higher learning. Dr. Luisito I. Tabada in his closing remarks mentioned that the AACCUP Institutional Accreditation is beneficial and rewarding. It is creating a history in itself.
Moreover, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno also gave the closing remarks and Vice President for Research, Innovation, & Extension, Dr. Rowena P. Varela delivered the opening remarks, while CSU Cabadbaran Chancellor, Dr. Marilyn B. Castillo did the welcome remarks in the opening ceremony of CSU’s Institutional Accreditation with AACCUP last November 16, 2020.
AACCUP Executive Director, Dr. Milabel Enriquez Ho in her keynote speech highlighted the significance of an Institutional Accreditation to an academic institution. Institutional Accreditation is more useful and relevant to government agencies and other major stakeholders in matters of fund allocation, levelling, and rationalization. She was in the virtual closing ceremony making sure that everything went well for AACCUP’s first ever virtual institutional accreditation.
Hosting the opening ceremony and exit conference was Mr. Eric Auguis with Mr. Jan Tinio on the technical side, and Dr. Fernando T. Herrera of the Quality Assurance and Management Services (QUAMS) office in the helm. PICO
