In the quest to encompass and integrate 21st century skills to the University’s Curricular Programs and activities , the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs conducted a workshop last September 23, 2019 at the Organic Agriculture Training Center.
The workshop was participated by the college Deans, directors of the different offices-NSTP, Guidance office, GAD, OCID, OIGE, OSAS, chairpersons of the different programs, and some student representatives of the University Student Council and League of Campus Organizations.
The resource speaker was the University President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso who emphasized the relevance of the 21st century skills to the learners. He stressed that students should be ‘Living for Learning’ and not just limit themselves in the boundary of a classroom. He encouraged all the instructors and professors of the University to cope with the complexity and demands of the changing times.
The workshop aimed to address the need to focus on the importance of the skills needed by the students in the ever changing digital world. The 6 Cs- Character, Citizenship, Collaboration, Critical thinking, Communication, and Creativity should be imbedded in the currular programs and activities of the University. JSG/pico
