Following its acquisition of the Financial Automation Resource Management (FARM) System in September 2024, Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) continues to strengthen its collaboration with Caraga State University (CSU) through a thorough training session on financial automation held on January 23–24, 2025 at SLSU-Main Campus Hotel, Lucban, Quezon Province.
CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil spearheaded the training alongside Management Information Systems (MIS) Director Mr. Dave Anthony Asis and Information Systems Analyst II Mr. Herbert B. Caringal. The session aimed to equip select executives and financial management staff from SLSU with the necessary knowledge and skills for the full implementation of the acquired system.
SLSU President Dr. Frederick T. Villa expressed enthusiasm about the initiative, emphasizing that the training will enhance the university’s financial management processes by improving accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
SLSU first expressed interest in CSU’s homegrown financial automation system during a benchmarking activity in October 2023. This led to the formalization of the acquisition through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed in October 2024, which included training as a key component. The project is expected to be fully operational within two years.
Caraga State University remains committed to supporting and collaborating with SLSU in its transition to automated financial management. This initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
