August 27, 2024 — The Department of Agriculture (DA) – Caraga turned over one unit of Rice Combine Harvester and one unit of Four-Wheel Drive Tractor to Caraga State University (CSU) to fortify agricultural education and promote sustainable farming practices.
The official turnover ceremony was held at the CSU grounds, graced by DA Caraga Regional Executive Director, Mr. Arlan M. Mangelen, along with CSU President, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, and key officials from the university, including Dr. Alexander T. Demetillo (Vice President for Administration and Finance), Dr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa (Vice President for Research and Development, Innovation, and Extension), Dr. Michelle V. Japitana (Vice President for Executive Operations), Prof. Annamarie P. Sajonia (Dean of the College of Engineering and Geosciences), and Prof. Elizabeth Parac (Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources).
The turnover ceremony began with Prof. Sajonia thanking DA Caraga for their generous donation. Director Mangelen and President Daguil then officially handed over the equipment, highlighting its importance for CSU’s agricultural programs. The Rice Combine Harvester and Four-Wheel Drive Tractor are expected to enhance practical learning and support sustainable farming efforts.
In his message, President Daguil underscored the university’s commitment to leveraging these new tools to advance CSU's mission of providing quality education and fostering innovation in agricultural practices. He noted that the addition of the Rice Combine Harvester and Four-Wheel Drive Tractor aligns with CSU’s goals of promoting sustainable farming and improving the livelihood of local farming communities.
