The College of Engineering and Geosciences launched its Christmas village light-up for their first ever Pasko sa Hinang at the Hinang Hall last December 9, 2022. The highlight of the event was a Christmas village prepared by the first year students of the six (6) programs of the college. Each programs gave their bests to design and present the most creative and resourceful Christmas-themed booths with simple machines.
Awards will be given for the Most Creative Booth, Best in Presentation and Best in Simple Machine Application Booth. The judges of the booth competition were Mr. Rex Makinano, (Chairman), Mr. Eric Jhon Auguis and Mr. Ashly Guinancias.
The event was opened by the college dean, Engr. Meriam Makinano-Santillan. Engr. Santillan was ecstatic and sentimental considering that it was the first Christmas activity celebrated at CEGS new home, the Hinang Hall. She hoped that the Pasko sa Hinang event will signify a traditional event of the college.
The #TukodCE booth by the BSCE first year students bested all the other booths and bagged the special awards for Most Creative Booth, Best in Presentation and Best in Simple Machine Application Booth. It was a tie for the 2nd Best Booth by #SukodGE by the BSGE students and #BangagEM by the BSEM students, followed by #SungagABE booth by the BSABE students as 3rd, #KirigECE booth by the BSECE students as 4th, and #DukdukGeol booth by the BSGEol students as 5th. -MMBermoy/pico
