Immersion and partnership never stop despite the pandemic. The Office of the Vice President for Administration and Finance (OVAF) headed by Vice President for Administration and Finance and Bids and Awards Committee Chair, Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno, spearheaded a virtual benchmarking with Batangas State University’s Procurement Information System.
On August 26, 2021 the OVPAF and BAC had a virtual meeting/benchmarking via Zoom with the Batangas State University. The activity was an offshoot of the presentation made by Dr. Enrico Dalangin, BSU’s Board Secretary and BAC Chairperson, during the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges’ (PASUC) webinar on Tactical and Strategic Approaches for the Procurement Management of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
The virtual activity was attended by Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) members of both campuses, BAC Secretariat, BAC Technical Working Group, Office of the Planning and Development (OPD) Director, and University Planning Officer. CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, gave an inspirational message.
Comprehensive and graphical presentations were presented by Atty. Noel Alberto S. Omandap, OIC Vice President for Development and External Affairs and Secretariat of the Batangas State University’s Bids and Awards Committee and Mr. Jonas Erik L. Ebora, OIC- Assistant Director of Procurement. Together with Dr. Enrico Dalangin and Engr. Edzel M. Gamab, BSU’s Director for External Affairs, all four BSU executives responded to the queries of CSU people with dedication and utmost sincerity.
Caraga State University gained a lot of perspectives seeing the best practices of BSU in Procurement Information System. CSU aims to make its procurement systems and processes more efficient, transparent, and updated. Assessment and enhancement of CSU’s Procurement System will be done by September 2021 in coordination with the CSU Management Information System (MIS), Financial Management System (FMS), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Procurement, and Supply units.
