September 3, 2020. Caraga State University led by President Anthony M. Penaso underwent SOCOTEC 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit successfully. It was the 2nd Surveillance audit for CSU and CSU’s first online, remote or virtual Surveillance Audit with the SOCOTEC Certification Philippines, Inc. (formerly AJA Registrar). The audit covers all the basic and mandatory requirements of an on-site audit.
The SOCOTEC audit was spearheaded by the Quality Assurance Management Services (QUAMS) under Dr. Fernando T. Herrera with the support of all the Vice Presidents, Deans, and all the CSU key officials.
Dr. Penaso directed all the CSU constituents to ensure its readiness and full compliance to the ISO 9001:2015 standards by ensuring all the needed documents adequately in place, and readily available for file or screen sharing. All electronic copies of controlled documents, records, pictorials, videos, and all other things needed were thoroughly organized for virtual site inspection.
To facilitate the adequacy on the presentation and sharing of all required data, all concerned personnel were advised to stay in their respective offices and colleges. All processes, effectiveness of corrective action, monitoring of risks and opportunities, monitoring on the established risk-based strategic planning, action taken to address internal and external issues, repair and maintenance program; minutes of the management review, academic and administrative council meetings, departmentalized meeting; status of institutional budgets, fund utilization; performance evaluation (academic performance of students, performance of external stakeholders; job performance of employees, internal audit report; compliance to statutory and regulatory requirements, and its continuing improvement initiatives like that of addressing the pandemic, blended and flexible learning schemes, and all other things relative to quality assurance were assiduously presented.
The SOCOTEC auditors led by Engr. Eugene Herradura, Ms. Lauren Grace, Support Auditor, Mr. Ringo Pabua, Ms. Ella Riza Ajero, and Ms. Czharena Buaquena technical experts have found the documents in place and adherent to quality management systems sustained maintenance. Interviews were also found highly impressive and commendable.
