CSU President Swears in 64 Instructors with Plantilla Positions

CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso sworn in sixty four instructors with Plantilla items. The 64 new plantilla positions plus 16 items for CSU Cabadbaran campus form part of the lobbying made by the CSU president with all the other state universities and colleges president to the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

CSU Human Resource and Management Office headed by Miss Rosario B. Heria and staff spearheaded the oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed faculty members last January 16, 2017 held at the Seminar room of the new Organic Agriculture building of CSU.

Vice President for Administration, Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno gave the opening remarks. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Rolando N. Paluga presented the newly appointed faculty members, and Vice President for Research and Extension Dr. Rowena P. Varela did the closing remarks. Dr. Rolyna C. Trugillo hosted the event with so much passion. The event was also attended by the ever supportive first lady of CSU Madam Abigail Noemis T. Penaso along with the other Executive Committee members, Dean, College of Arts and Science Dr. Esamel M. Paluga,  Dean, College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources Dr. Teresita A. Atega, Dean, College of Engineering and Information Technology Engr. Meriam M. Santillan, Director, Administrative and Auxiliary Services Dr. Luisito I. Tabada, Director, Planning and Development Dr. Tomas M. Austral Jr. , and Director, Public Information, Alumni and External Affairs Prof. Sonia R. Low and all others.

In his Words of Inspiration, President Penaso emphasized the significance of the teaching profession and the essence of being a teacher. In an adaptive style of speech, he presented two film clips of teachers making a difference in the lives of their students. The said film clips truly gave everyone the goose bumps and a deep moment of reflection.

He enumerated the multifaceted characteristics and qualities of being a teacher; the teachers’ roles in shaping the lives of students. He told the newly appointed instructors to be proud of being teachers and aspire to be an inspiration to the students. He further stressed that the university needs teachers who can lead and who can make a difference in people’s lives. “Successful people are dreamers. Dream your dream and wake up to that dream.” This was his opening line.

With the newly appointed permanent faculty members, the students are assured that they will indeed be provided with enough number of faculty members to guide them in their academic pursuit. The newly hired instructors are experts in their own field of discipline having earned masters and doctorate degrees.
