Sustainable Mineral and Mining Operations

Metallurgist and Associate Professor Richard Alorro, PhD, from Curtin University, Western Australia, shared his expertise in managing mine waste and technospheric ore in the first two of the six workshop series funded by DOST-PCIEERD on November 19 and 22, 2024.

The "Mining Waste Management towards Sustainable Mining" covers critical minerals in energy transition, technospheric mining of mine wastes, metallurgy basics, and research methods. It also includes action planning and proposal writing.

The Mining Philippines 2023 International Conference and Exhibition, held from September 19-20 at the prestigious EDSA Shangri-La Manila, brought together an array of foremost leaders, technical experts, and investors from the Philippines' mining industry as well as resource-driven countries such as Australia, Canada, China, and Japan.

The 13th Philippine Innovation Expo turned out as a historic event for Caraga State University as two (2) of their groundbreaking projects clinched the coveted EPIC (Excellence in Project Implementation and Completion) Awards at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel last June 28, 2023.
