The faculty in the Department of Environmental Science joined the 2nd Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary Summit last November 21, 2018 held at Ernielita’s Events Venue in Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. The events’ theme centers on sustaining biodiversity through ecotourism and extension programs in which key personnel from the Provincial Tourism Office of Agusan del Sur provided the situation and opportunities of ecotourism inside the marsh.
Now on its fourth year, Caraga State University conducted the SciTEch4Dev 2018 forum on October 23 to 25, 2018. The conference called for a concrete action from its participants in response to its theme “Science and Technology for Inclusive Education towards Countryside Development”.
Seven Science Faculty Members were sent to the Summer Programs dubbed as @Silpakorn 2018 held at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand last July 31 to August 9, 2018. Accordingly, the summer program aims to publicize academics and research innovation, and promote cooperation and collaboration with other universities in the international level. The summer camp was participated by faculty members, researchers and graduate students from universities in Laos, Philippines and Vietnam.
Five faculty-researchers from Caraga State University namely, Dr. Romell A. Seronay, Dr. Joycelyn C. Jumawan, Mr. Richie P. Lador, Ms. Julie Rose Apdohan, and Ms. Meycel Amarille whose research posters were accepted entries for the research poster category attended the 40th National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) at the Manila Hotel last July 11-12, 2018.
CSU Environmental Science faculty Prof. Chime Mora-Garcia was one of the select participants from Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa to attenda three- week international training on Wetland, Integrated Water Resources Management for Food Security and Climate Change Resilience in Wageningen, Netherlands, June 04-22, 2018. It was an all-expense paid fellowship sponsored by the Dutch government.
