True to the drive for internationalization and research development, another instructor from Caraga State University participates in a six-month research training fellowship in Kerala, India which aims to promote scientific cooperation, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.
It requires determination to top the licensure exam, courage to rank 1st, and grit to do it back-to-back for two years. It is rare but possible, as exemplified by Golden Paddlers Cornelio Casilac, Jr. and Victor Corbita, ranking 1st in the 2016 and 2017 Foresters Licensure Examinations (FLE).
To promote the Caraga region’s timber industry through sustainable production, the DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) partners with Caraga State University to establish a Regional Forest Products Innovation and Training Center.
Both parties formalized the partnership with a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed in March this year. The groundbreaking ceremony of the center site took place on December 12, 2024, at the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CoFES) Clonal Nursery.
