To promote the Caraga region’s timber industry through sustainable production, the DOST-Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) partners with Caraga State University to establish a Regional Forest Products Innovation and Training Center.
Both parties formalized the partnership with a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed in March this year. The groundbreaking ceremony of the center site took place on December 12, 2024, at the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences (CoFES) Clonal Nursery.
The initiative includes the provision of processing machinery for wood and non-wood forest products to enhance the region’s product design, processing, and utilization.
