CIMPA and CSU Collaborate on Innovative Math Researches

The Centre International de Mathematics Pures et Appliquees (CIMPA) school and its people went to Caraga State University on August 16 for Mathematical Modelling for Ecosystems Training. CIMPA along with the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, led by Dr. Rolando N. Paluga, Office of the Internationalization and Global Engagement, headed by Dr. Jayrold Arcede, CSU-College of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (CMNS) - Mathematics Department headed by Dr. Esamel M. Paluga with the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation, under Dr. Rowena P. Varela organized several activities for training and workshop, assimilation and simulation as well as visits to the different places in Caraga region, to include a day dedicated to the International year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development.

The CIMPA School training and workshop run for two weeks. It officially began on August 22 and will end on September 2, 2022 at the CSU-HERO Learning Commons Auditorium. CIMPA is an organization of lecturers and researchers worldwide. School organizers include: Caraga State University (Jayrold Arcede),Universidad de Evora, Portugal ( Joaquim Correia), Universite de Picardie, France (Youcef Mammeri) with Scientific Officer: Lidia Fernandez of Universidad de Granada, Spain.

“CIMPA was founded in France in 1978; it is a non-profit organization working for the development of mathematics research in developing countries. Historically, CIMPA's activity concerns the organisation of CIMPA Schools in developing countries. It focuses on areas where there is real enthusiasm and where there is a scope for research project.

The purpose of CIMPA School is to provide an introduction to recent research in pure and applied Mathematics, as well as related subjects such as Computer Sciences and Theoretical Physics. CIMPA Schools are aimed at students and research teaching staff from developing countries. CIMPA provides the schools with financial support to cover the travel and living expenses of participants from neighbouring countries. Call for proposals are launched every year, with a view to organising twenty or so CIMPA Schools the following year. To date, CIMPA has organised 340 CIMPA Schools in 62 countries.”
