Caraga State University, through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension (OVPRIE) won the best booth exhibit during the 6th Regional Technology Forum and Product Exhibition last August 8-9, 2019 at Almont Inland Resort, Butuan City.
The event was organized by the Research Division of the Department of Agriculture-Caraga, with the theme "Technologies from Agri-Fishery R&D as Catalyst for Sustainability and Competitiveness".
Some of the materials exhibited by CSU were the abaca Agrobiotechnology and Scientific posters of the Tissue Culture Laboratory (TCL); promotional materials of SAGO Project, the Center for Resource Assessment, Analytics and Emerging Technologies (CREATE), and Rice Machinery Operations (RMO NC II); and LED screen displays of the AquaR/ EPRiMA project, PHIL-LIDAR 2 project, and TESDA National Certificate Training.
According to Dr. Varela of OVPRIE, the uniqueness of CSU's booth showcasing high-end technologies from Agro-biotechnology and ICT as exemplified by the disease management of abaca through Tissue Culture and the development of database and mapping system for managing aquatic resources and agricultural production (AquaR/EPRiMA) were the key factors of CSU's triumph on the event. Furthermore, the synchronization of CSU's exbihit and the event's theme were also determining factors of the final result. The University was also awarded a cash prize. NOMB/pico
