The Caraga State University (CSU) Graduate Students of the Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) program conducted a Seminar on Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience to Climate Change at Barangay Babag, Butuan City last 21 July 2018. The Seminar was in coordination with the CSU Center for Research on Environmental Management and Eco-Governance (CRÈME).
The Learning Event Providers were the MEM students who were taking EM 209 (Socio-Economic Systems with Issues and Problems in Rural Development) subject under Engr. Nilo H. Calomot, Ph. D. for the summer class.
Climate Change is really a pressing environmental issue nowadays which require collaborative and concerted efforts among different stakeholders, particularly the community which is the most affected.
The seminar was organized to increase awareness and motivate essential actions on Climate Change Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resiliency. It was attended by some local residents and officials headed by their Barangay Captain.

D.; Climate Change: Global Warming and Greenhouse Effect by Diana Mae D. Rivera; Watershed and River by For. Elmer R. Causing; Ecosystems Based Adaptation (EBA) Principle by Luningning T. Racho, RCh; Causes of Climate Change (Issues, Problems, and Concerns) by Andy T. Ordoňa, RFt; and Effects of Climate Change (Calamities and Damages) by Angeles D. Alindajao, RCh.
Climate Change Strategies and Adaptation Actions by Ailene B. Budiongan; Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) by Roque P. Mansiliohan, Jr.; Laws and Ordinances related to Climate Change by For. Mark Anthony P. Castillano; and Community Readiness: Fire Prevention and Preparedness by Inspector Abelardo L. Silverio. The event ended with the singing of Heal the World by Michael Jackson.
