In line with its commitment to ensuring effective records and archives management, the University recently conducted a re-echo seminar-workshop following the attendance of two records officers, Mr. Richard P. Ruiz and Mr. John Peter M. Mongaya, at the Seminar-Workshop on Basic Records and Archives Management organized by the National Archives of the Philippines (NAP).
The re-echo seminar took place on March 26, 2024, at the Conference Hall of the Administration Building and was attended by key university officials including University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Alexander T. Demetillo, and Division Chief for Administrative Services Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno.
During the seminar, President Daguil emphasized the crucial role of proper records management within the university and highlighted upcoming initiatives such as the digitization of record processes, digitalization of records, and the establishment of a records center. These efforts are aimed at enhancing efficiency, accessibility, and security in managing the university's record holdings.
The seminar covered various topics including an overview of RA 9470, Introduction to Records Management, Records Creation and Control, Records Maintenance, Use, and Control, as well as Records Disposition. Practical workshops on Records Management Table and Records Disposition Schedule were also conducted, allowing participants to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios.
Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno, in her closing message, expressed gratitude to the participants for their active engagement and reiterated the importance of the seminar-workshop in equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to manage record holdings effectively.
Overall, the re-echo seminar-workshop served as a valuable platform for promoting best practices in records and archives management within the university, aligning with international standards and contributing to organizational excellence.
