Caraga State University, through its Center for Resource Assessment, Analytics, and Emerging Technologies (CReATE), formally shared its Sago Pith Extracting Machine to aid Sago farmers in Esperanza, Agusan del Sur, through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on April 29, 2025.
The agreement is covered by the DOST-Technology Application and Promotion Institute project, entitled ‘Prototype Enhancement and Testing of Village Level Sago Pith Extracting Machine.’
In March this year, CReATE deployed the same machine to a farmers’ group in Julita, Leyte. The same move reinforces the university's commitment to implementing research outcomes in the community and helping small-scale farmers and rural industries.
CReATE Director Engr. Aljon E. Bocobo led the ceremony together with the center staff and faculty members of the CSU Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE).
