Mathematics students from CSU College of Education received books from Professor Leong Yew Hoong, a distinguished Mathematics professor from the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Professor Leongwere authored the resources entitled (1) Making Mathematics More Practical: Implementation in the Schools and (2) Twelve Questions on Mathematics Teaching: Snapshot from A Study of the Enacted School Mathematics Curriculum in Singapore,which he donated during the Seminar on Research and Pedagogy in Mathematics Education on April 28, 2025 at CSU where he served as a resource speaker.
The books were formally disseminated to the graduating students in a turnover facilitated by Maris T. Lasco, PhD, Program Coordinator of Mathematics Education, on May 9.
With insights drawn from Singapore’s world-renowned mathematics education system, the resources will serve as scholarly guides and practical references for the students as they prepare for the licensure examination and advance their understanding of mathematics curriculum design, classroom implementation, and research-based teaching strategies.
