A Well Loved Leader, Dr. Penaso Gets Another Term as CSU President

August 17, 2018 is another milestone for Caraga State University as Dr. Anthony M. Penaso gets another term as Caraga State University President. A well-loved leader, Dr. Penaso was sworn in by CHED Commissioner Perfecto Alibin in the presence of all the Board of Regents members at the Grand Regal Hotel, Davao City on August 17, 2018. His second term begins on August 17, 2018 and ends on August 16, 2022.

Accordingly, good leaders are trailblazers they make a path for others to follow. Great leaders inspire people to dream bigger, reach higher and achieve greater. Dr. Penaso has won the hearts of the CSU constituents because of his objective and humble ways. He is down-to earth, dynamic, proactive, optimistic and open minded. He is one who listens and makes anyone feel special. To mention his having five doctorate degrees and Central Mindanao University’s first summa cum laude is an understatement. And his quantum leadership style is another thing.

On his first year term of four years, Dr. Penaso’s vision for CSU as an icon of excellence in higher education actively leading the green development of Caraga region in the context of ASEAN integration has been achieved.

His mission for Caraga State University to develop highly empowered and ethically responsible human resources, produce research contributions with significant societal impact towards a sustainably inclusive growth and development has been attained.

CSU has reached Level IV as a State University in the Philippines, one of the only five (5) Level IV SUCs in Mindanao and one of the only twenty (20) in the country. Caraga State University has quantum leaped from Level II to Level IV that is quite a feat to behold. This SUC levelling is both quality and quantity gains.

This true blue academician, ethical researcher, humane administrator, witty mathematician, dedicated professor, perceptive senior accreditor; visionary leader is also attuned to human empathy and understanding.

He is a responsible family man and a loving husband to an equally loving and supportive self-contained best half, CSU’s First Lady, Madam Abigail Noemis Tecson Penaso. A human being who lives a life of purpose, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso continues to lead Caraga State University to where it should be with competence, service, and uprightness to the delight of its stakeholders and CSU family.
