Aiming to improve its information system, personnel of Northeastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) visited the Caraga State University (CSU) to benchmark and learn from the university’s own Financial Automation and Resource Management Systems (FARMS), January 12, 2024.
FARMS is a system developed by CSU to automate and fast track the processes of its Budget, Accounting, Procurement, Supply, Human Resource Management, and Cashier Offices.
Mr. Dave Anthony P. Asis, Director of CSU Management and Information System (MIS), presented the ins and outs of the 15-year-old system and explained how it contributes to the efficient administrative processes of the university, including its beneficial function to employees.
Vice President for Administrative and Finance Dr. Catherine F. Solomon led the NEMSU team with representatives from the information systems, administrative, accounting, budget, procurement, cashier, supply office, and human resource management offices.
VP Solomon commended the interface of FARMS as user-friendly and systematic as it integrates the work of various administrative offices. She also expressed the interest of NEMSU to purchase the system from CSU. CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil was affirmative and said to discuss the proposal in a further meeting.
Aside from the FARMS, the team also learned about other systems utilized by the university, which include Document Tracking, Trip Tickets, Work and Financial Plan, and Student and Employee IDs.
The said benchmarking is among the knowledge-sharing endeavors of the university, which is relevant to the LIKHA agenda of President Daguil on Knowledge Co-Creation and Commercialization. PICO
