September 18, 2024 — Officials from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) visited the Caraga State University (CSU) to assess ongoing locally-funded infrastructure projects across its Butuan City and Cabadbaran City campuses. The visit aimed to ensure that budget allocations were properly utilized and that projects were on schedule, as stated in their reports.
The inspection focused on critical projects such as the Ladies and Gents Dormitories, CEIT Complex, University Gymnasium and Cultural Center, and smart classrooms at the Butuan campus. In Cabadbaran, improvements to the CITTE Building, the College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, and the Ladies Dormitory were reviewed. The team evaluated these developments' impact on institutional services, operational efficiency, and user satisfaction.
The monitoring exercise is part of a larger effort to validate CarSU’s Land Use Development and Improvement Plan (LUDIP) and document effective strategies for future projects. During a closing meeting at the Athenaeum, DBM and CHED provided recommendations for addressing challenges and improving project execution.
This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and ensuring funds are maximized to benefit students and staff. │via NMD/PICO
