Kinaadman grounds filled with purple-colored crowd as the RGADC- Regional Gender and Development Committee spearheaded the opening of National Women’s Month with the recurring theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society. #WecanbeEquALL”. The opening was hosted by our institution as part of the University’s continued efforts and commitments to promote gender equality and women empowerment.

The activity was participated by the members of the Local Government Unit of Butuan and different regional agencies like the Department of Social Welfare and Development-Caraga, National Irrigation Administration-Caraga, Philippine Statistics Authority-Caraga, Department of Science and Technology, Commission on Higher Education, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Fire Department, Butuan City Police, Department of Tourism, and more.

"I know that God created us equal, and in God's sight, we are all equal," University President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil said in his opening remarks. Dr. Daguil further stated that Caraga State University is an advocate for respecting one another and one's preferences. He also brought up a whole new saying "In every woman's accomplishment, there is a man."

The significance of inclusivity in our society was highlighted by Alexander A. Makinano, Philippine Commission on Population Caraga Regional Director and Chairperson of the RGADC. He said that the topic and purpose of growth and development should not restrict just in males but also among women.

Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, Vice President for Executive Operations and Auxiliary Services, concluded the event by encouraging everyone to remember women’s amazing strength, perseverance, and achievements throughout history. She also wished for the continuous success of women's achievements alongside men, not just this month, but in the coming years. GAD/PICO
