The university congratulates its 2,530 graduates of the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for Academic Year 2024 in a graduation ceremony on May 18, 2024, held at the Philippine Science High School.
The batch is composed of 359 from the Reserve Officers Training Corps, 335 from the Literacy Training Service, and 1,836 from the Civic Welfare Training Service.
In her welcome remarks, CSU NSTP Director Rissa L. Mercado, PhD, elaborated on the theme: Rising Strong: Embracing Resilience, Empowering Change, and encouraged the students to continue their volunteerism and resilience as forces for social good.
Graduation guest speaker Hermie P. Pava, PhD, Central Mindanao University (CMU) Vice President for Administration, commended the students for “braving the adversities in championing tomorrow’s destiny for CSU, respective communities, and the country.” He then reminded the students how the NSTP serves as a crucial platform in preparing the country for national security issues and challenged them to continue the service.
University President Rolyn C. Daguil, PhD, also extended gratitude for the contributions of the NSTP in the university’s endeavors. He congratulated the students as they have embodied “values and skills for the service of partner communities and the nation.”
The activity included oath-taking of the newly incorporated reservists and members and officers of the National Service Reserve Corps, awarding of outstanding students from all three components, and recognition of the partner agencies of the NSTP.
