In his usual classy gait and demeanor CSU BOR-Chair, CHED Commissioner Jo Mark Libre virtually addressed the members of the CSU Executive Committee on its opening of 2023-2028 Strategic Planning held at the Horizon Bay Resort in Magallanes, Agusan del Norte on December 5-7, 2022.

Commissioner Libre warmly congratulated the new CSU President, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil for leading the initiative to close 2022 with a clear and systematically directed institutional management program thru the strategic planning. Comm. Libre also recognized the remarkable presence of BOR Regent, Atty. Ronnie Azura representing the senate through the office of Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero. Both regents are hands-on and all out in their support to the different State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) under their responsibility and supervision.

Comm. Libre noted the new different platforms and modalities that will be maximized in the new CSU administration led by CSU President Rolyn C. Daguil in the delivery of higher quality education. This is to strategically embed the essence of higher quality education.

According to him the University officials will become agents of change in this new vision and mission. We move forward as an institution with various activities that align to the direction of the Commission on Higher Education. And to bring about laudable change in the LIKHA agenda which is giving more value and adopting to change through innovation. Things that need to be given much attention and focus should be what we must be into. He encouraged the CSU officials and the whole CSU community and its stakeholders to participate, engage and cooperate and move collectively as an institution

He quoted the essence of strategy, according to Michael Porter, “choosing to perform activities differently than others do. Strategy rests on unique activities. It's also making a choice on what you don't need to do. The strategy is not about how can we be the best, but how can we be quaintly our own. The essence of strategy is applying processes that will make it easier for us and shape educational policies in a manner that sets new directions and positive results.

“Challenges will continue in the years to come what is important is embracing the set vision and mission. Retooling, recalibrating, redefining our goals. May you continue your passion in directing and managing CSU all for the glory of the Almighty Father.” Commissioner Libre, impeccably ended his talk on this note. PICO
