ICT Center - The faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) brought the house down last night, December 15, 2010, as they showcased their talents in dancing, singing and even in music videos during the CAS Music Mania 2010 and Disco held at the Sanchez Gymnasium of CSU.
Dr. Rolando N. Paluga, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), led all the faculty members to one of their grandest performances to date before thousands of spectators who trooped the gymnasium last night.
Dr. Paluga mentioned in one of his speeches that it took them a while to prepare for the presentation and the faculty sacrificed their time on weekends for four weeks. This is just to prepare for the presentation to offer the audience, especially students, the best live performance they can deliver.
The live band accompanied the solo, duet and group singing presentation by selected faculty members. Among those who sang solo were:
Several faculty members from the college grouped themselves and delivered electrifying dance numbers to the delight and cheers of a huge crowd inside the gymnasium.
The college collected Php50.00 per individual who watched the show to augment the expenses to produce the event. When the show was almost over, Dr. Paluga asked the audience if their show was worth their Php50.00, the crowd responded positively and even chanted "we want more! we want more!...we want more!"
The variety show was organized to generate funds to finance the basic needs of the college.
The CAS Music Mania is one of the highlights of the 1st University Charter Week celebration held from December 14 - 17, 2010.
