Caraga State University, along with fifteen other Higher Education Institutions, participated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Ceremonial Signing for the DOST PCIEERD’s ReSEED Program at the 7th TBI Summit held in Iloilo City on November 21, 2023. Vice President for Research Extension and Innovation, Dr. Jeffrey T. Dellosa, represented CSU on behalf of CSU President Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil. The launching of the Regional Startup Enabler for Ecosystem Development (ReSEED) Program during the summit signifies a notable stride in strengthening the startup’s solid foundation, such as access to markets, financial backing, supportive policies, and community support that are crucial components for startup ecosystems to thrive.
The Caraga Regional Innovation and Startup Ecosystem (CaragaRISE) consortium of CSU is among the regional consortia in the country dedicated to enhancing the startup ecosystem in the Caraga region. CSU’s mission is to cultivate a globally competitive and socially responsible workforce, contributing to the sustainable and inclusive development of the Caraga Region and beyond. CaragaRISE is CSU’s way of helping Caraga Region rise from being identified as one of the poorest regions through innovation and the formation of tech-based startups, anchored on the Leveraging Innovation, Knowledge, and Holistic Adaptation (LIKHA) Agenda of CSU.
This mission is shared with other HEIs in the region, such as the Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU), North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU), and Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) as well as partner agencies like the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and National Economic Development Authority (NEDA).
Through this MOU and the commitment of the partner agencies, Caraga Region’s future is already ensured.
