Attended by more than three hundred people, the 2019 CSU Alumni Homecoming upraised with enthusiastic attendees and active participants including next year’s Silver Jubilarians batch 1995 whose successor batch 1996 led by Mr. Art Campania are all set for the next two year’s alumni homecoming.
2019 Alumni Homecoming also marked the first most number of attendance from the high school batch 1994 led by Ms. Arlene Aray Agot, and the couple Mr. and Mrs. Leonardo and Kareen Joy Hallera who were both high school sweethearts and now a loving couple. Together with batch 1994 college president Mr. Gerry Joey S. Laurito who is also the CSUAAI incumbent President and alumni Representative to the CSU Board of Regents.
The alumni homecoming started with the prayer blessing and showcasing of the approved lot area of 1000 square meters for the construction of an alumni house or “ba’ay hung alumni” as envisioned by its officers and members. It was followed by a motorcade from Ampayon to Butuan and back to CSU.
Motorcade and Election of the new set of officers were made with Dr. Elmer A. Palacio as COMELEC chair with other two members from the alumni came next. CSUAAI in 2019-2021 has for its new president, Dr. Ana P. Lasco of DepEd.
CSU Board of Regent member, Dr. Alma A. Eleazar gave the inspirational message highlighting many things the alumni can do for its alma mater. She also shared thoughts on how other alumni gave back to their alma mater.
CSU Vice President for Executive Operations and Auxilliary Services, Dr. Luisito I. Tabada spoke about the many achievements of Caraga State University and where CSU is leading. While the Alumni Relations Office and Public Information Office director, Dr. Sonia R. Low, once again reminded the alumni to unify, share and collaborate for a purpose, and that purpose should coincide with the CSU’s Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives and to its mandate. And for the alumni to work as one and to help those who need help in any endeavor the alumni would take into.
Impressions were also given by Dr. Elmer A. Palacio and alumna balikbayan Ms. Veronica B. Snoxell. Both of them expressed appreciation and gratitude for CSU and to all. The two also expressed their commitment and dedication to the alumni ideals.
Notable is the presence of the next sets of Jubilarians Batch 1995 and 1996 who started preparations as early as they could possibly do it. Turn- over of alumni hosting was made meaningful with the passion of batch 1995 to accept the responsibility, with their President, Dr. Rey Collado and Vice President, Dr. Lorenzo Macasocol with the other batch 1995 officers, 2020 is another grand alumni homecoming worth waiting for.
