The Office of the Vice President for Research and Extension (OVPRE), through its Publication Unit trained forty-four (44) young and budding researchers in writing for journal publication. The training was done through the ‘Writeshop and Coaching Series on Crafting Publishable Research Papers’ conducted on June 20-22, and June 27-29, 2018 at Sarnimian Inland Resort Corporation, Rosario, Agusan del Sur. The two-week activity was designed to capacitate CSU researchers, faculty and staff on the techniques in crafting and packaging research results into a publishable paper.
CSU Environmental Science faculty Prof. Chime Mora-Garcia was one of the select participants from Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa to attenda three- week international training on Wetland, Integrated Water Resources Management for Food Security and Climate Change Resilience in Wageningen, Netherlands, June 04-22, 2018. It was an all-expense paid fellowship sponsored by the Dutch government.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte witnessed the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and State Colleges and Universities (SUCs) on June 13, 2018 at the Rizal Hall, Malacañang Palace.
A total of 112 state universities and colleges, and 78 local universities and colleges, including our very own maverick president, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, signed the agreement to launch the implementation of Republic Act No. 10931 or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education.

Prof. Shosaku Kashiwada, Director of the Research Center for Life and Environmental Science of Toyo University, Itakura Campus in Gunma Prefecture, Japan came to Caraga State University (CSU) on June 4, 2018. He gave a seminar on ‘Globally Distributed Plastic Debris and Environment-Dependent Toxicity’ to the faculty members from the various departments of Caraga State University. His talk focused on the impact of microplastics on the marine ecosystem specifically on biodiversity.
