Come and join us on May 19, 2017 at 6:00- 10: A.M. for our Forest Bathing and Trash Picking, Tree Caring and Tree Hugging with Poetry Reading activities and win a prize for hugging trees and reciting a poem on the spot.

Tree hugging is therapeutic, enlivening, and invigorating. According to info.ecosia.org, “Trees mean a happy environment, healthy people, and a strong economy."

Research has shown that we don’t even have to touch a tree to feel better, we just need to be within its vicinity and experience its beneficial effect.

In a book, Blinded by Science, the author Matthew Silverstone, scientifically proves that trees improve many health issues, such as concentration levels, reaction times, depression, stress and other various forms of mental illness. He even points to research indicating a tree’s ability to alleviate headaches in humans seeking relief by communing with trees.

Silverstone quotes a major public health report that investigated the association between green spaces and mental health and concluded that “access to nature can significantly contribute to our mental capital and wellbeing”.

Ilan Shamir, in his thoughts, Advice from a Tree, said that just like a tree, stand tall and proud, go out on a limb, remember your roots, drink plenty of water, be content with your natural beauty, and enjoy the view. piaea
