CEIT Spearheads the Opening and Blessing Of Mechatronics and Robotics Building

On February 22, 2017, Caraga State University’s College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) headed by Dean Meriam M. Santillan spearheaded the opening and blessing of the newly built Mechatronics and Robotics building.

The state of the art building houses CSU’s Phil-LIDAR 1 and Phil-LIDAR 2, Caraga Center for Geo Informatics, Incubation Laboratory, Caraga Fabrication Laboratory, CRAFT or the Center for Robots, Automation and Fabrication Technologies, Computer Technology Laboratory and more.

The said event also marked the turn-over ceremony of the Mineral Processing Laboratory Equipment donated by the Taganito Mining Corporation. The equipment is now being used by the Mining Engineering students of the CEIT. The Mineral Processing Laboratory is located beside the Farm Mechanization Laboratory across the Mechatronics and Robotics building.

CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso gave the inspirational talk highlighting on the necessity of CSU to have more infrastructure projects and developments as a university. He stressed the importance of having a shared vision for the common good.

The simple ceremony was also attended by CSU First Lady, Madam Abigail Noemis T. Penaso, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Rolando N. Paluga, Vice President for Research and Extension, Dr. Rowena P. Varela, Vice President for Administration, Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno, College of Arts and Sciences Dean, Dr. Esamel M. Paluga, former Dean of CEIT, Engr. Alexander T. Demetillo, Planning and Development Director, Dr. Tomas M. Austral, NSTP Director, Dr. Nelia N. Raganas, Human Resource Management Office Director, Ms. Rosario P. Heria, General Services Director, Engr. Marilou G. Umpad, Public Information, Alumni and External Affairs Director, Prof. Sonia R. Low and Chief Science Research Specialist, Engr. Jojene R. Santillan. The event manifested the vibrant and interdependent teamwork of the CEIT people.
