Ms. Karen B. Burdeos a faculty member of the mathematics department, College of Arts and Sciences presented a paper entitled “Climate Change Scenarios for Surface Temperature in Agusan del Norte, Philippines using a Statistical Downscaling Technique, during the 13th International Conference Inter University Cooperation Program held at University of Miyazaki, Japan on July 8-12, 2017. The conference was organized by Chiang RaiRajabhat University (Thailand) and aims to promote international understanding and develop academic and cultural ties among universities in Asia-Pacific and the GMS countries. Its major activity was to bring the awareness of the global economic, social, environmental and political issues that have significant impacts on global warming, trade, financial stability, and human security. One of the objectives of the event was to address learning and adaptation for international understanding, living in harmony among different cultures, and having respect for values of human dignity, equality and furthering of democracy which address to one of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
