CSU activates its futures thinking initiatives by inviting two (2) facilitators from the Philippine Futures Thinking Society to foster forward-thinking approaches in addressing the university’s current challenges and paving the way for a more progressive future.
This two-day event that culminated yesterday, November 14, 2023, drew participants from diverse sectors within the two campuses, including academia, administration, and research. Dr. Marife Matic Mustacisa-Lacaba and Ms. Jalaine Joyce V. Malabanan facilitated the discussions and workshop, which in turn produced outputs that shed light on nuanced perspectives about identified issues and pinpointed obstacles. Participants then proposed innovative strategies to shape the university's future through the input taken.
Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, the VP for Executive Operations and Auxiliary Services, concluded the activity by emphasizing the importance of building upon the insights gained during the workshop, ensuring that the momentum generated would lead to tangible actions for the university's benefit.
Senator Pia Cayetano, the Chair of the Senate Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Innovation, and Futures Thinking, champions the implementation of these programs. She believes that the Futures Thinking mindset is a ‘tool to effectively plan for the new normal.’ With Futures Thinking programs, government sectors and institutions can make better decisions and devise solutions for the ever-changing environments.
The event has set a precedent for proactive and strategic planning, fostering a collective effort toward a promising future for CSU.sms/pico
