Following the ceremonial MOA signing held at the House of Representatives, Batasan Hills, Quezon City last September 25, 2023, the Caraga State University (CSU) and the Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) legalized their collaboration through the official signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last October 10, 2023. This designates DRMC as the training hospital for future medical students of CSU's proposed School of Medicine.
Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil represented the University. Joining him to witness the signing were Dr. Michelle V. Japitana, Vice President for Executive Operations and Auxiliary Services, and the members of the Working Committee for the School of Medicine, Dr. Ma Olivia Bating and Dr. Mary Grace Leopardas. DRMC is also represented by Center Chief Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, MAHA, FPCS, FPSGS, FPALES, FSOSP, Chief Medical Training Officer, Dr. Julmin Tapsirul II, FPCP, MAHA, and Palliative Medicine Section Head Dr. Suzette Solis, FPAFP, FPSHPM.
As outlined in the MOA, CSU is responsible for the curriculum and instruction of its Doctor of Medicine Program, which encompasses the development of guidelines, policies, manuals, and the establishment of learning objectives, target competencies, and clinical training assessments. DRMC, in return, shall provide the required clinical clerkship, learning, and development to the CSU's future medical students during their clinical clerkship stage and render the necessary individual assessment and evaluation.pico
