The turnover ceremony for Presidency dubbed Pagsaulog formally happened on November 16, 2022 at the CSU-HERO Learning Commons Auditorium. The event was a mixture of hello, goodbye, and marked another new journey for CSU.

Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension, Dr. Rowena P. Varela in her opening remarks thanked Dr. Joy C. Capistrano for serving CSU as OIC of the Office of the University President for couple of months and warmly welcomed the new CSU President, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil.

ASSCAT President, Dr. Joy C. Capistrano in her quiet elegance and fine character expressed utmost gratitude for her priceless and worthwhile experiences as Officer in charge of the Office of the CSU President. She has found a sense of belongingness and a certain attachment to CSU.

Dr. Capistrano came to CSU with agility, dynamism and vibrance as well as a commitment and devotion to serve. CSU is grateful and proud to produce a leader like Dr. Capistrano. As a CSU alumna, she embodies the Core Values of CSU which is Competence, Service and Uprightness.

While giving the CSU Maze to President Daguil, Dr. Joy C. Capistrano highlighted the significance of the Maze as the University’s identity. It symbolizes power, authority, and responsibility of the Office of the University President. “Carry the maze with competence and character, with confidence and dignity,” Dr. Capistrano said.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil honored God first and foremost before anyone and anything else. He expressed his appreciation to everyone humbly and sincerely. He stressed the importance of culture, values, mindset and character to hold an organization together. He stressed the relevance of focus in achieving the CSU goals as one. He finished his talk with the lines, “Hiraya minawari sa sabay sabay nating paglikha!”

The ceremonial turnover was both meaningful and nostalgic. It ended with a celebratory toast headed by the Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno, closing remarks by the Vice President for Executive Operations and Auxiliary Services, and photo documentation with all the Executive Committee members, staff and guests. Also present were Regent Atty. Ronnie B. Azura (Senate Representative of Senator Francis Joseph “Chiz” Escudero, Faculty Regent Dr. Alexander T. Demetillo and student Regent Dhan Jharyd B. Felias, and the representative of Congressman Jose “Joboy” S. Aquino III, Atty. William Christian DelaCruz
