The Philippine Development Foundation (PhilDev) considered Caraga State University (CSU) as one of the prominent universities in the Philippines to implement the United Nations Development Programme–Innovation for Social Impact Project (UNDP-ISIP).
Prof. Shosaku Kashiwada, Director of the Research Center for Life and Environmental Science of Toyo University, Itakura Campus in Gunma Prefecture, Japan came to Caraga State University (CSU) on June 4, 2018. He gave a seminar on ‘Globally Distributed Plastic Debris and Environment-Dependent Toxicity’ to the faculty members from the various departments of Caraga State University. His talk focused on the impact of microplastics on the marine ecosystem specifically on biodiversity.
Hiroshima University professors Dr. Lawrence M. Liao and Dr. Makoto Hirayama visited Caraga State University on June 1, 2018, and lectured on the importance of biodiversity and application of algal lectin.
The Public Information, Alumni and External Affairs (PIAEA) office and the Caraga State University Alumni Association Inc. (CSUAAI) had been advocating environmental protection and sustainability for years now. This alumni homecoming 2018, with host batch 1993, the group introduced plogging as one of its pre-homecoming activities. It is the first time in Mindanao that plogging has been done and we did it here in Caraga at Caraga State University.
The Caraga State University alumni host batch 1993 headed by their President, Ms. Anna Goles with some Caraga State University Alumni Association Officers led by BOR Alumni Regent and CSUAAI President Gerry Joey Laurito and Vice President Nilo Villamor, and the Public Information, Alumni and External Affairs Director, Dr. Sonia R. Low joined the Unity Walk spearheaded by the Agusan National High School Silver Jubilarians on May 5, 2018.
