The Caraga State University Alumni Association Inc. (CSUAAI) and the Public Information, Alumni and External Affairs believe in tilling the soil for therapy & wellness, productivity and prosperity.
The PIAEA and the CSUAAI will give away seeds for anyone to begin growing his/her own food right where they live through the “Grow your own food” program on May 19, 2017 after the Forest Bathing and Tree Hugging, during the Breakfast Bonding. The program encourages everyone to till the soil in order to live healthier and fruitful lives. This is CSUAAI and PIAEA’s third year in its advocacy.
“The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. It is the healer, restorer and resurrector, by which disease passes into health, age into youth, death into life. Without proper care for it we can have no community, because without proper care for it we can have no life.” Wendell Berry, The Unsettling of America: Culture and Agriculture.
Planting tomatoes, onions, ginger, turmeric, lemon grass, basil, mint, and all the condiments anyone can find will not only save one from additional expenses in buying the items; it will also make one healthy and wise.
Is it not awesome to see cucumbers, string beans, lemons, eggplant, okra, squash and other vegetables growing around your household garden, edible and fresh?piaea
