Dr. Joanna B. Cuenca, CSU President, highlighted the experiences of the University in Public-Private Partnership during the PASUC National Forum on PPP held at Marigold Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City on September 1-3, 2011.
Her paper revolves around CSU’s linkage with the mining industry in Caraga Region, institutional cooperation with Filipinas Palmoil Plantations, Inc. (FPPI) on oil palm industry development and partnering with Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST) for the promotion of robotics and metrology. The President’s presentation aimed to inform other SUCs in the country how CSU conceptualized and operationalized PPP such that all the parties involved can benefit from the partnership. She emphasized the role of the partnership in curriculum enhancement, physical facilities development as well as the contribution of PPP in enterprise development. During her delivery, she stressed the generation of human resources out of the graduates which are prepared based on the industry demands as the major benefit that industries can get from PPP.
As an active participant of the PPP discussion, the President was chosen to give her impression in which she said that she is glad about the forum and promised to promote PPP in Caraga Region with CSU taking the lead.
