Caraga State University and partners from Northeastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) and Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture and Technology (ASSCAT), comprising the Regional Agri-Aqua Innovation System Enhancement (RAISE) Program, convened for annual planning and workshops aligned to contribute in the development and commercialization of agriculture and aquaculture innovations in the region, April 10-12.
RAISE assists in intellectual property management and technology transfer among member institutions in Caraga through capacity building, mentorship, business development and management. Since its inception in 2023, the team is in the process of laying out its activities alongside capacitating personnel.
Program Leader Professor Kenneth Ciudad opened the activity, which involved discussions by project leaders on guidelines and standards to secure DOST grants and accounting rules for transparency, and a workshop on target and strategies setting.
A workshop on Technology and Intellectual Property (IP) Inventory also ensued to assess the existing technological assets and intellectual property in the region, followed by the presentation of accomplishments by respective projects and the launching of RAISE’s official logo.
CSU President Dr. Rolyn Daguil graced the activity and urged the personnel to embrace and promote community-driven innovations to respond to local demands. VP for Research, Extension, and Innovation Dr. Jeffrey Dellosa also emphasized the significant economic potential of the Program, highlighting the importance of collaboration for a successful implementation.
