The office of Commissioner Nenalyn P. Defensor of the CHED in cooperation with the Center for Teaching Excellence of Education of West Visayas State University, Ilo-ilo City hosted the Monitoring and Synchronization Conference Cum Workshop
at Andres Bonifacio Hall of West Visayas State University in La Paz, Ilo-ilo City on July 13-14, 2011.
Caraga State University as a member of the Network for Excellence in Teacher Education was represented by the University President, Dr. Joanna B. Cuenca, Dean of the College of Science Education, Dr. Natividad R. Mamaoag, and Dr. Lydia R. Curaza.
In line with Commissioner Defensor’s Save our Future (SOF) project, the following topics were discussed – (1) synchronization of annual activities of the centers for teaching excellence, (2) linking of teacher education institutions through web portals, and (3) preparation of the action plan for the nationwide training of trainers for kindergarten teaching.
The following are the centers for teaching excellence – Mariano Marcos State University, Cebu Normal University, West Visayas State University, Leyte Normal University, Bicol University, University Of Southeastern Univesity, and Philippine Normal University. As a member of the network for excellence in teacher education, Caraga State University can establish better linkages with the other centers of teaching excellence so that the university can collectively etch a mark in doing its share of saving the future.
