Caraga State University has been selected as one of the 15 participating Universities in the Philippines to undergo the International Rating System- Quacquarelli Symonds Stars, a Commission on Education (CHED) project Fostering World Class Philippine Universities. A project that aims to ramp up the internationalization initiatives of Public Universities.
It seeks to further drive positively and incentivize the good practices, thrusts, and programs on internationalization that delivers on fulfilling sustainable goods not just on education, but on the 17 other goals stated in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs under the leadership of Dr. Rolando N. Paluga spearheaded a seminar-workshop on “Revisiting of Strategic Internationalization Plan: A Quacquarelli Symonds Perspective.”
The workshop aimed to empower CSU by redirecting and aligning the University’s academic services and facets to the QS Stars key areas and indicators for a productive engagement in the international market and rankings.
Participants in the workshop was led by CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso, VPs Dr. Armie Leila Mordeno and Dr. Luisito Tabada, College Deans, and University Unit Heads. Divided into five groups based on the QS indicators; 1. Academic Reputation, 2. Employer Reputation, 3. Students, 4. Faculty, and 5. Research.
