Engr. Lord Boy Silong, a Technical Expert at the university’s Technology Transfer and Licensing Office (TTLO), won first prize at the Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest 2024, held on August 16, 2024, at the Royce Hotel in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga.
He demonstrated his innovative competence by pitching the Sago Pith Extracting Device, an invention developed by the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering faculty.
Competing against 17 talented participants from across the country, Engr. Silong's pitch stood out for its originality, practicality, and potential impact on the agricultural sector. His victory highlights the university's commitment to promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and showcases the dedication and talent of its faculty and staff.
The Agri-Aqua Innovation Pitch Fest is a prestigious event organized by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) in collaboration with various state universities and colleges across the Philippines.
Aside from his Php 10,000.00 prize money, Engr. Silong was also awarded Php 5,000.00 from the Office of the Vice President for Research and Development, Innovation, and Extension during the university's flag ceremony on August 19, 2024. │ via OVPRIE/PICO
