CSU Resonates as it Opens School Year 2018-2019

August 13, 2018, led by University President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso Caraga State University resonated as it welcomes “Freshies and Returnees” to the university for the School Year 2018-2019. Trumpets blew and drums beat as the students standing on CSU grounds filled with enthusiasm and excitement listened to the words of welcome by the university President.

CSU Collaborates with AFTA thru its Balikturo Project

The Caraga State University College of Education collaborated with the Filipino American Teachers of America (AFTA) Incorporated through a project called Balikturo, which literally translates to “Return to teach”.

CSU launches Sago Eco-innovation Village during the Adlaw Hong Butuan Celebration

Caraga State University joins the celebration of Adlaw Hong Butuan through the Sago Eco-Innovation Village Launching on July 30, 2018 held at the J.C Aquino St., Guingona Park. The launching aims to showcase the research-based extension strategy integrating local initiatives enhancing the natural treasures of the city.

OVPA Initiates Seminar on RA 9184

The Office of the Vice President for Administration headed by Dr. Armie Leila M. Mordeno initiated a seminar on RA 9184 known as the Government Procurement Reform Act. And its 2016 revised implementing rules and regulations. RA 9184 is an Act providing for the Modernization, Standardization, and Regulation of the Procurement Activities of the Government and for other purposes.

CSU Sends Seven Science Faculty to Thailand for Training on Research

Seven Science Faculty Members were sent to the Summer Programs dubbed as @Silpakorn 2018 held at the Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand last July 31 to August 9, 2018. Accordingly, the summer program aims to publicize academics and research innovation, and promote cooperation and collaboration with other universities in the international level.

CSU Graduate Students Conduct Seminar on Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience to Climate Change

The Caraga State University (CSU) Graduate Students of the Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) program conducted a Seminar on Mitigation, Adaptation, and Resilience to Climate Change at Barangay Babag, Butuan City last 21 July 2018. The Seminar was in coordination with the CSU Center for Research on Environmental Management and Eco-Governance (CRÈME).

CSU Faculty Association Elect New Set of Officers

The Caraga State University Faculty Association elected its new set of Officers for Academic Year 2018-2020. The officers took their oath of office with CSU President, Dr. Anthony M. Penaso last April 17, 2018. The following are the newly elected faculty association officers:

CSU Faculty Showcase Researches in NAST 2018 Conference

Five faculty-researchers from Caraga State University namely, Dr. Romell A. Seronay, Dr. Joycelyn C. Jumawan, Mr. Richie P. Lador, Ms. Julie Rose Apdohan, and Ms. Meycel Amarille whose research posters were accepted entries for the research poster category attended the 40th National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) at the Manila Hotel last July 11-12, 2018.

CSU’s Five Infra Projects All Set by Third Quarter of 2018

Construction of the five infrastructure projects of Caraga State University Main Campus, namely: Street Lights, Covered Walk Phase III, Construction/Repair/Rehabilitation of Academic Buildings (University Hostel and S&T Building) and repair of various buildings are set by the third quarter of 2018.

CSU Environmental Science Mentor is Water District Awardee

Engr. Nilo H. Calomot was recognized by the San Francisco Water District for his contribution to their watershed management initiatives, farm models, research, and formulation of management plans and programs. The award was given during the 30^th founding anniversary of the local water district last July 3, 2018 at Mabis Convention Center, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur.
