CSU Bio dept opens natural science museum

Showcasing the rich ecological treasure of the region, the Caraga State University soft-launched its Natural Science Museum located in the HERO Learning Commons (University Library) on Nov 25, 2024. 

The museum, established by the Department of Biology under the College of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (CMNS), features a collection of flora and fauna gathered through research projects and biodiversity assessments conducted within the Caraga region. Mobile museum boxes brought by Professor Leonardo Estaño, former CSU faculty and currently in charge of the MSU-IIT Natural Science Museum, were also displayed. 

Faculty and students of the said department also underwent a workshop to capacitate them in museum establishment and herbarium management from November 25 to 26.

The museum now serves as an additional center for research, education, and community engagement, aiming to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the region's natural treasures and history. | via CMNS/PICO
