Out of the ten (10) candidates endorsed by the Caraga State University to National Quemoy University (NQU), and competed with student applicants all over Asia, New Zealand, and Australia, two (2) CSU students made it to the “New Southbound Policy Short-term Study Program” or Youth Elite Exchange Program (YEEP).
Mr. Rolito II Lambot Aloyon from the College of Forestry and Environmental Sciences and Ms. Angel Fel Janiola Burdeos from the College of Education will attend the YEEP program in Taiwan starting September 2022 until January 2023. They will receive a generous monthly allowance, accommodation, and round-trip tickets from the Philippines to Taiwan and vice versa.
On May 11, 2022, the CSU Office of Internationalization and Global Engagement (OIGE) headed by Dr. Jayrold P. Arcede, together with the International and Cross-Strait Office of National Quemoy University headed by Dr. Yvonne Yen conducted an online YEEP orientation for CSU students and faculty. CSU and NQU agreed to collaborate on students (inbound-outbound) mobility, research, faculty exchanges, joint degrees, and more that CSU and NQU can have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) or Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) eventually. The OIGE is under the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs (OVPAA)
Significantly, a Memorandum of Agreement has been brokered by the Taiwan Education Center represented by Mr. Richmond Huang for and between Caraga State University Represented by Dr. Anthony M. Penaso and National Quemoy University (NQU) represented by President Chien-Min Chen on cooperation and student exchange was signed last May 2021. It was attended and witnessed by both universities’ officials
Caraga State University and National Quemoy University are making their partnership active and dynamic. The student exchange program of both universities will undoubtedly develop and grow remarkably in their internationalization endeavors. OIGE/MB/pico
