CSU triumphs at Philippine Innovation Expo 2023

The 13th Philippine Innovation Expo turned out as a historic event for Caraga State University as two (2) of their groundbreaking projects clinched the coveted EPIC (Excellence in Project Implementation and Completion) Awards at the Centennial Hall, Manila Hotel last June 28, 2023.

The projects "Miniaturized Boat-assisted Data Acquisition for Automated Cyanide Monitoring in Wastewater Using Optical Nano-Sensor" (CYANanobot) and "Systematized Mining Operations using Automation and Real-Time Telematics Platform Towards a Paradigm Shift in Surface Mines of Region" (SMART Mines), both administered through the Sustainable Mineral and Mining Operations using Industry 4.0 (SuMMO) Center took home the EPIC (Excellence in Project Implementation and Completion) Awards, showcasing CSU's commitment to innovation and technological advancements. The EPIC Awards, a highlight of the DOST-PCIEERD 13th Anniversary, aimed to recognize outstanding projects in terms of execution, impact, and sustainability.

During the event, Dr. Alexander T. Demetillo, who served as the project leader for both projects, attended and received the prestigious award. Also, in attendance were Dr. Rolyn C. Daguil, University President of Caraga State University, as well as Dr. Jaymer M. Jayoma and Engr. Rudolph Joshua U. Candare. Additionally, the Project Management Team from DOST-PCIEERD, Ms. Katrina Landicho, Ms. Mary Grace Buenvides, and Ms. Franceska Angeline Carranza, joined the group to accept the well-deserved recognition.

As CSU continues to pave the way for groundbreaking research and development, the university's projects are poised to make a lasting impact on various sectors, including environmental conservation, mining, and beyond.
