Dr. Johnvie Goloran, batch 2001 graduate of Caraga State University has become a soil health and plant nutrition scientist. Dr. Goloran finished a Bachelor of Science in Agroforestry and Entrepreneurship course from CSU, cum laude. He visits CSU from time to time, the most recent of which was last November 15, 2022 at the Alumni Relations Office, signifying his support to his alma mater. He was also a CSU graduation speaker few years ago.
Dr. Goloran has twenty (20) years of experience in developing, implementing, and managing research and agri-business programs/projects for local/national governments, international organisations, smallholder farmers, and large commercial farms for increasing crop yield, quality and productivity.
He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (Plant-Soil Nutrient Interactions) degree from Griffith University, Australia, through a scholarship. He has a post graduate certificate in Environmental Management (Natural Resource Management) from The University of Queensland, Australia, given by the Australian Postgraduate Award-Industry and GU-International Postgraduate
Dr. Goloran has made a name for himself in his field. He is currently in the Philippines and goes back and forth to Australia as research fellow in GU. He now works with the Agusan del Sur LGU on a project that aims to boost household incomes for indigenous smallholder farmers in the uplands of southern Philippines through the introduction of profitable rubber intercropping systems, sustainable management regimes and capacity building.
